I've been (for good and bad) a memeber of a philosophy department for a number of years, and I can tell you that philosophy - whether moral-, analytical- theist-, practial-, classical- or any other subgenre, always boils down to semantics (and the language philosophers are only too happy to explain to you in mind-numbing detail exactly why this is the case).

Philosophical questions about photography cannot be answered empirically. Hopefully they give rise to a joyous continued reflection about why we choose certain equipment, methods, subjects and materials. The joy is in the reflection, not in finding a final answer! Thanks for this site Mike!
